This lovely, delicate wild flower grows in profusion at the interface of woods and fields at my family home in Northeastern Connecticut. The geranium's petals are like fragile, transparent rice paper, while the sturdier stems twist and turn to display their fantastically serrated leaves. Its crown-like brown seed pods stand spiky and stiff. This painting is composed around a modified S shape - one of my favorite compositional forms.
