Cyclamen, with their delightfully mottled leaves and their nodding, dancing blooms, are one of nature's gifts to artists. One can visually meander the paths created by the lights and darks of their leaves and explore the fringes of their ruffled flowers. In this painting as in many of my botanicals, I have explored the full range of the life cycle of the flower, from bud through full bloom to near death: a painted metaphor of our lives.
