Gloriosa superba 'Rothschildiana' has blooms that look like flames reaching up to lick the sky. I loved painting this plant for so many reasons: the ends of the leaves have tendrils that sometimes curl right back around their own stems, the buds are strange 'crown tear-drops' with what look like teeth on the edges, and the plant itself twists and turns in a natural 'S' composition. This large painting is floated in a natural wood gallery frame with UV conservation glass and archival mats.
